Bath Wanderers vs Bradley Stoke match report
27 June 2021
Gen Donaldson 50 not out
Bath Wanderers II’s secured a comfortable 10-wicket win at Bradley Stoke CC, making the most of the dry window amidst all the showers.
Winning the toss and electing to field, the eight young Bath bowlers restricted the hosts to a total of 80, bowling them all out in the 19th over. Alex Ball struck with only her second ball, a fine catch taken at gully by Jan Godman, Alex finishing with two wickets for 9 runs from her three overs.
Eva Holliwell was also in the wickets, bowling out two for 10 runs off two overs, taking a catch and throwing in for a run-out.
Clara, Mia, Gen and Evie each sent a batsman back to the pavilion while a solid display of ‘keeping by Matilda Jackson meant no byes on the extras.
The opening pair for Bath, Gen Donaldson and Evie Dixon, showed experience beyond their years, carrying their bats through to win in the 18th over, despite the best efforts of eight different Bradley Stoke bowlers.
Gen, not out 50, following her midweek career-best of 79 not out, dominated the strike, scoring six 4’s, while Evie, 16 not out, patiently supported and rotated the strike, scoring the winning run to clinch the ten-wicket victory - a confident display of batting prowess from the 15-year olds.
Well done to all the team for an impressive performance.
