Bath CC 4th XI v Bristol Eagles CC 1st XI

Bath CC 4th XI travelled to the BAWA Sports Club to face Bristol Eagles 1st XI on Saturday.

After losing the toss, and being put into bat, Bath’s openers found an indifferent pitch and a very effective swing bowling attack a challenge. After a very watchful start, Bath found themselves 34-2 as both openers were bowled by Aravind Sundar (5-13). This soon became 67-6 as Bath continued to find the conditions difficult, but important contributions down the order from Alby Jackman (17), Veera Sasidharan (15) and Chandana Kariyapperumage (22) took Bath up to 121 as they were bowled out in the 40th over.

The Bristol Eagles reply was built around two powerful innings - from firstly Ankit Sharma (40) and then Champ Kadaba (44), and although Kariyapperumage (2-21) bowled a very effective spell, the Eagles coasted to victory to win by six wickets within 22 overs.
