Bath CC 3rd XI hosted Knowle CC 2nd XI at the Brownsword Ground on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bath made a positive start before Bill Simmons (13) was trapped in front. Fellow opener, Sam Price (10) soon followed when he was run out, and Luke Stringer (7) was then bowled to leave Bath 45-3. Bath briefly rebuilt through George Axtell (26) and Tim Scott (21), but when these two were back in the Pavilion the home side slipped from 108-5 to 136 All Out.
Knowle’s reply started well with a 42 opening stand before Conor McNama (7) was dismissed by Luke Welsh. But Austin Empson (39) continued to bat well with the top order to steadily reach Bath’s target with nine overs to go, and to win by six wickets.
