Bath CC 3rd XI v Bohemians CC 1st XI
Bath CC 3rd XI travelled to Bristol to face Bohemians CC 1st XI on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Bath openers passed 50 before Luke Stringer went for 9. Bath then slipped to 62-2, but fellow opener George Axtell then batted effectively with Richard Pandya (25), Innes Pierce (25) and Mathan Balasubramaniyan (21) to steer Bath to 215-6. Axtell was left just short of an excellent century as he was left 98 not out at the end of Bath’s 40 overs.
The home side’s response never really got going as they slipped to 49-4 due to an excellent opening spell from spin and pace duo, Mohamed Hamza (2-27) and Peter Biggs (2-10). Bath then continued to take wickets in regularly intervals as the leg spin of Innes Pierce (3-25) was particularly effective as Bohemians were eventually bowled out for 137 in the 32nd over still 78 runs short of their target. As a result of this win, Bath 3rd’s remain top of the B&D second division.
