Bath 3rd XI vs Brislington

The third team garnered some revenge with a good win over Bris- lington 2nd in the Bristol & District League at the Brownsword Ground.
Inserted to bat once more, Bath lost opener John Bean for a five- ball duck, leaving Sam Simmons (18) and Freddie Stappard (24) to rebuild.
After their 44-run partnership came to an end, Bath struggled to 86-6, however Joe Prescott remained calm amidst the mad- ness and struck a vital unbeaten 55, alongside Mohamed Hamza’s 26 not out, to see the hosts to 175-8 from their 40 overs.
Brislington’s reply never really got going, with only one batter - their number ten - managing to reach double figures. Prescott com- pleted his match-winning perfor- mance with 3-15 from five overs, while Bean also picked up 3-24 alongside two wickets for Peter Biggs as Brislington were skittled for 78 inside 19 overs.
